Day 14: My Soul. My Lord.

Scripture: Psalm 78:1-4, 52-55

 Unworthy Soul
Bless the Lord, O my soul
I sing your praises
I write your stories
I live the life you have given me

 I do what I can
But it will never be 
enough to fully magnify your glory

 Make me worthy of you, Lord
Make me an instrument 
And bless my unworthy soul,
O my Lord.

Preach it!

This morning I preached at York Center Church of the Brethren. Here's what I said! Scripture: Matthew 14:22-31 22-23  As soon as the meal was finished, he insisted that the disciples get in the boat and go on ahead to the other side while he dismissed the people. With the crowd dispersed, he climbed the mountain so he could be by himself and pray. He stayed there alone, late into the night. 24-26  Meanwhile, the boat was far out to sea when the wind came up against them and they were battered by the waves. At about four o’clock in the morning, Jesus came toward them walking on the water. They were scared out of their wits. “A ghost!” they said, crying out in terror. 27  But Jesus was quick to comfort them. “Courage, it’s me. Year 2, Day 2: "I'm a damsel, I'm in distress, I can handle it. Have a nice day."

Scripture : Ephesians 6:10-18 Armor of Champions I sense a quest coming on. Find the cloak of invisibility. The wing of a broken winged bat. The necklace of eternity. On the surface, this verse sounds Like something straight out of A fantasy novel. But the difference is That God can actually clothes you in truth Shields you from harm And keeps you safe. He is your armor. His love is what keeps you safe. He empowers you to save yourself. Not from the evil dragons of the world, But from those things that would hurt you. Even from yourself at times. Trust in your armor to keep you safe,  Trust in God's warm embrace, And you'll save the damsel in distress, You'll make it to the castle in one piece. Peace & Hope, Rachel
